1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Butter or spray a 9”x9” pan with nonstick cooking spray. Line with parchment paper. Set aside.
Make the crust
2 Combine the melted butter with flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Mix until combined. Turn into the prepared baking dish, and press flat.
3 Transfer to the oven, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden.
Make the filling
4 While the crust bakes, make the filling. Peel and core the apples, and slice thinly. Place in a large bowl. Measure in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, apple pie spice and salt. Stir to combine.
5 When the crust has come out of the oven, pour the filling directly on top of it in an even layer.
Make the crumble
6 Melt the butter in another bowl, then measure in the flour, oats, sugar and salt. Stir to combine.
7 Crumble over the top of the apples, then transfer to the preheated oven.
Bake the apple pie bars
8 Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crumble is golden brown.
9 Let cool completely before slicing and then enjoy.
