What you need

lb raw shrimp

tsp kosher salt

tsp chili powder

tsp dried oregano

tsp paprika

tsp cayenne pepper

tsp garlic powder

tsp dried basil
Instructions
1 Measure the [wprm-ingredient text="1 teaspoon paprika" uid="1"], [wprm-ingredient text="1 teaspoon chili powder" uid="2"], [wprm-ingredient text="¾ teaspoon garlic powder" uid="3"], [wprm-ingredient text="½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper" uid="4"], [wprm-ingredient text="½ teaspoon dried oregano" uid="5"], [wprm-ingredient text="¼ teaspoon dried basil" uid="6"], [wprm-ingredient text="¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper" uid="7"] and [wprm-ingredient text="¼ teaspoon kosher salt" uid="8"] into a small bowl. Stir until mixed. Set aside. 7 If you have not already, peel and devein the shrimp BEFORE proceeding. 2 Place the [wprm-ingredient text="1 lb. raw shrimp" uid="9"] into a medium-sized bowl. Sprinkle with the blackening seasoning, and toss until all shrimp are coated. (The seasoning will be thick. Don't fear that this will be too much — it makes it delicious!) 3 Heat a skillet with [wprm-ingredient text="1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil" uid="10"] over medium-high heat. (If doing this at a tailgate, you can throw the shrimp directly onto the grill! Or you can cook them on a skillet on the grill, if you so desire.) 4 When the oil is hot, add the shrimp. 5 Cook until pink and completely cooked through. This will take about 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on the heat. 6 Remove from the skillet, and enjoy!View original recipe
