What you need

oz tomato puree

cup vegetable broth

tsp kosher salt

tsp black pepper

tsp red pepper flake

tbsp fresh basil

tsp hot sauce
Instructions
0 Heat the olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. 1 When hot, add the onion and garlic cloves, cooking until transparent, about 5-6 minutes. 2 Add the tomato puree and broth. Season with salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes and hot sauce. Stir and bring to a boil. 3 Remove from heat, and transfer to a blender. Blend the ingredients together until smooth, then pour in the heavy whipping cream. Measure in the basil, too, and blend until smooth. 4 Spoon out the soup into bowls. Chiffonade another fresh basil leaf, topping the soup with the herb garnish, and enjoy warm.View original recipe
