0 In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. 1 Heat over high heat until the sugar has completely dissolved, stirring occasionally. 2 Turn off the heat, and add the halved peaches. You may leave the skin on because it will turn the syrup a beautiful pink color. 3 Let steep for 45-55 minutes at room temperature before transferring to a mason jar.
