Flavorful shrimp are seared with garlic and a shallot, then added to a decadent lemon wine sauce and tossed with linguini. Add butter to finish, then serve this addictive seafood entree warm!
0 Cook the [wprm-ingredient text="½ lb. linguini" uid="0"] according to the packaging instructions. Drain, saving a little pasta water, and reserve.
10 Heat [wprm-ingredient text="1 ½ teaspoons extra virgin olive oil" uid="2"] in a large saucepan over medium-high heat.
1 If you haven't already, peel and devein [wprm-ingredient text="1 lb. shrimp" uid="5"]. Add the shrimp to a large bowl, and season with [wprm-ingredient text="¾ teaspoon Cajun or Creole seasoning" uid="6"] and [wprm-ingredient text="¼ teaspoon kosher salt" uid="7"]. (If your Cajun seasoning has salt, please skip the additional salt.)
2 When the olive oil is hot, add the chopped [wprm-ingredient text="8 garlic cloves" uid="3"] and [wprm-ingredient text="1 shallot" uid="4"], and cook until softened, about 1-2 minutes.
3 Next, add the prepared shrimp to the pan.
4 Cook until the shrimp are pink on both sides, about 3-4 minutes. Immediately transfer them to a bowl so they don't overcook.
5 Deglaze the pan with [wprm-ingredient text="½ cup dry white wine" uid="9"], and let the wine reduce by half.
6 Pour in [wprm-ingredient text="¼ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice" uid="10"]. Add the [wprm-ingredient text="Zest of 1 lemon" uid="11"], [wprm-ingredient text="4 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley" uid="12"] and [wprm-ingredient text="½ teaspoon red pepper flakes" uid="13"], stirring until combined.
7 Add the shrimp back to the pan, then add the cooked pasta and ¼-½ cup of the cooking liquid directly to the pan, too.
8 Add [wprm-ingredient text="4 tablespoons unsalted butter" uid="14"], and let it melt into the sauce and noodles, stirring it vigorously.
9 Serve warm with a favorite glass of wine and a slice of crusty bread.
